Quaero (http://quaero.org) is a research and industrial innovation program on automatic processing of multimedia and multilingual content, encouraged by French Republic Presidency.

Technologies developed inside Quaero will allow directe access to textual, audio and video content. Application domains concern general public, professional and cultural actors: search tools for multimedia search on the internet, integrated professional solutions for audiovisual media asses management, tools for digitization of libraries’ collections et dissemination of audiovisual heritage.

The program is organized in six applicative projects, each lead by an industrial partner, and two transversal technological projects, one for distribution of corpora and the other for the development of core technologies. Ina is co-leader with Thomson  of the DMAM project (Digital Media Asset Management), which aims at improving solutions for audiovisual content management. The institute is also partner of the Corpus project, and responsible of the architecture of the intranet of the program.

The Quaero Consortium is made up big companies, SMEs, private and public research laboratories, and public institutions.
